To Serve men was a story about a man who has to decipher a book brought by "peaceful" aliens. These aliens are known as Kanimits, which sound like cannibals referring to the end of the episode where it turns out they want to eat humans. All through the story the aliens trick all the humans into thinking of them as good, and wanting to better man. They end famine and hunger, and really do seem good. While trying to figure out what the book means, they see that the title is named to serve men, and welcome the aliens as friends. At the end of the episode though it turns out the book was a cook book, and the whole time they were planning to eat us. I really liked this episode, it had the watchers trust the aliens only to be betrayed by them in the end. While watching it also keeps you guessing to what is the ulterior motive, and whether we should trust the aliens or not.

Puts a somewhat normal woman into a strange situation. When the woman was cutting with her knife she realized it was dull and took out a sharp one instead, which foreshadows a later event where the "alien" stabs her with it. This episode really made you wonder what was going to happen with the woman, and if the alien was good or bad. In a twist of events at the end though you realize this whole time that the woman was the alien and the little being was a human. I like how it gets you to root for the alien who is really just trying to murder your own species. This episode was fun to watch and really got me thinking about creative ideas. I hope that the other videos in this class will be as enjoyable. Side Note: This episode had really dark themes in it. |
